講座內(nèi)容:After the discovery of laser-induceddemagnetization[1] the optical manipulation of the magnetic state of materialshas become an increasing field of research. In this talk a brief report of somemore recent advances will be given[2], followed by a discussion pertinent tothe design of magnetic structures whose purpose is the coherent magneto-opticalcontrol. The main focus of the talk will be on how to take into account thedifferent degrees of freedom in the calculations, as well as how to activelyuse them when designing spintronics materials. After a short description of thepursued concepts, the spin, the phonons[3], the laser parameters and finallythe temperature will be addressed. At the same time some of the delicateinterplays between those degrees of freedom will be pointed out, combined withthe description of how to use them in order to devise spin-dependent heatengines on the nanoscale[4].
